El sujeto en la teologí­a polí­tica de Juan Bautista Metz

Este artí­culo presenta las ideas centrales de la reflexión de J.B.Metz sobre la identidad del sujeto, tal como la desarrolló en su reflexión teológica. El sujeto constituye un concepto fundamental para la función correctiva de la teologí­a

polí­tica, y para la propuesta de una nueva conciencia de la dimensión polí­tica pública de la teologí­a y la religión. Pues, según Metz, las teologí­as trascendental y existencial se enfrentaron al reto planteado por la Ilustración, pero lo hicieron de forma abstracta, mientras se infiltraba furtivamente el sujeto burgués en el cristianismo, con sus virtudes de la competencia, estabilidad y rendimiento. Debemos recuperar la identidad del sujeto religioso que se va constituyendo como tal en el seguimiento del Señor, y en la experiencia de ser pueblo solidario.

Abstract

This article presents the central ideas of J.B.Metz reflection on the subject's identity, such as they are developed in his theological reflections. The subject is a fundamental concept for the proper function of the  polí­tical theology, and for the proposal of a new awareness of the public political dimension of the theology and the religion. Well, according to Metz, the transcendental and existential theologies were faced with the challenge posed by the Enlightenment, but they did so in a abstract way, while stealthily the bourgeois subject infiltrated in Christianity,

with its virtues of compence, stability and performance. We must recover the religious identity of the subject which is constituted as such in following the Lord, and the experience of being solidary people.
