El ensayo rescata y reivindica el nombre del chileno-alemán Guillermo Jí¼nemann

como el pionero en traducir la Biblia completa desde el original griego al castellano

en tierras latinoamericanas (1928). Corrige así­ una equivocada tradición histórica

que daba tal tí­tulo al argentino-alemán Juan Straubinger (1948). Luego recorre

brevemente la historia y evolución de las traducciones bí­blicas y su uso en nuestro

continente, revalorizada definitivamente por el Concilio Ecuménico Vaticano II.

Finalmente, el artí­culo señala que en nuestra Universidad se acaban de conmemorar

los cincuenta años del comienzo del Concilio con la realización de las «Jornadas

Teológicas del Cono Sur y Brasil - Ronaldo Muñoz», concluyendo que dicho encuentro

fue un incentivo para que la hermenéutica comunitaria de la Teologí­a de la

Liberación reimpulse el movimiento bí­blico, en una organización verdaderamente

ecuménica, el cual es un especial desafí­o para nuestra realidad chilena de hoy.

Abstract

The essay rescues and claims the name of the chilean-german Guillermo Jí¼nemann

as the pioneer in translating the entire Bible from the original greek into

Latin American lands in castilian-spanish (1928). Thus correcting an erroneous

historical tradition that gave that title to the german-argentine Juan Straubinger

(1948). After briefly covers the history and evolution of Bible translations and

their use in our continent, finally revalued by Vatican Ecumenical Council II.

Finally, the article points out that our University is just to commemorate the

fiftieth anniversary of the beginning of the Council with the completion of the

«Theological Seminar of the Southern Cone and Brazil- Ronaldo Muñoz», concluding

that this meeting was an incentive for community-based hermeneutics

Liberation Theology movement reinvigorating the Bible in a truly ecumenical

organization, which is a particular challenge for our chilean reality today.
